Create a Table

This page walks through adding a table to an application. When you're finished the table will have its built-in fields, a default dashboard with a "List All" report, and a default form for entering records.

Steps

  1. Open Application Settings from the main menu and select Tables in the Structure & UI section.

  2. Click Add Table in the top-right corner.

  3. Fill in the table's basics:

    • Table Icon: an icon for the table in menus and lists.
    • Table Name: the table's unique name within the application.
    • Singular Noun: the singular display label (for example, "Customer"). Users see this on buttons and record titles.
    • Plural Noun: the plural display label (for example, "Customers").
    • Table Description: an optional description of what the table holds.
  4. Click Save. The new table appears in the Tables list with its own dashboard.

Creating several tables at once

Need more than one table? Click Add Tables next to Add Table to open the bulk form. It starts with five blank rows and grows as you type. Enter each table's name and the singular and plural nouns fill in automatically; edit them if you like. Click Add Tables when the list is complete.

Adding the table to the menu

A table doesn't appear in the left navigation until it's on a menu. Open Settings → Menus, edit a menu, and drag the table from the Tables tab into the structure. Users with Display on Menu on the table's default dashboard will see it after their next sign-in.

Where to go next

The same creation flow is available through the REST API. See the Tables endpoint reference.
